Chapter Six

Walker left Stefano’s apartment shortly afterward, and got into the Taurus where he glanced at the dashboard. The clockIt read twelve thirty. The thought of returning to the seedy room where his borrowed pillow lay depressed him, and after the scene with Stefano he was too worked up to go to sleep. He pulled out his phone and called up some numbers he had saved. Flyboys and Encounters were two gay bars that served the area and he punched in their addresses. Encounters was closer and the name of the place had him more than interested in checking the place out. It had been ages since he’d taken a lover, even for a quick hookup or one-night stand. His love and loss of Emilio had left him raw and sometimes he felt soulless. He needed a connection tonight, and needed it badly. He pointed his car in the direction of the bar with a single goal, to lose himself in someone and forget who he had become for a time.

A short fifteen minutes later, Walker pulled into the parking lot of the gay bar. The lot was packed with cars even in these early hours of the morning and Walker was fortunate to find parking in an unlit corner of the lot. He stepped into the dark interior of the bar a few minutes later. A thumping beat came out of the loudspeakers near a dance floor clustered with writhing bodies. The establishment wasn’t very large but it had a good sized square bar right in the center and Walker stepped up to it and sat down at a free barstool, catching the bartender’s eye. The handsome bartender dressed in tight jeans and a black and gray camouflage muscle shirt walked up to him. Nipple bars were clearly outlined under the T-shirt and when he looked into the guy’s deep-brown eyes, he knew why he’d come. Walker was going to get laid tonight if it was the last thing he did. The bartender grinned and leaned forward, letting his gaze slide over Walker’s features with interest. Walker glanced up at the lavender tips of the guy’s black Mohawk and he felt his cock thicken inside the tight leathers he wore. Yeah, I could do you.

“Good evening,” the bartender drawled. “Haven’t seen ya in here before.”

Walker had almost forgotten that he was in Texas until the deep drawl came out of the man. He smiled, feeling the scars on the right side of his face as they pulled. “Yeah, I’m just passing through. You have any beer back there?” Walker asked.

The bartender stood straight, picked up a tall beer glass, and grinned. “Shore do,” he replied. “What’s yer pleasure?” His question was laced with more than a little promise.

“Let me have a Sam Adams Dark,” he answered with a smile.

“Got some pumpkin ale that some say’s REAL good,” the bartender drawled, reaching into a refrigerator behind him and drawing out a brown bottle with a dark label.

“Sounds perfect,” Walker replied.

The man nodded and opened the bottle, leaning the glass to the side as he poured it.
